We saw a 'Green Flash' last night as the sun went down in a cloudless sky, three of us witnessed it! it was a very strong emerald green just as the sun disappeared.
Having had no wind all night we are now sailing with the asymmetric up and making 7.5 - 8 knots, in a calmer sea and cloudless sky.  Last night everything seemed to happen at 6p.m. just as a Rally quiz was about to happen, the asymmetric had been lowered, then the fishing line ran and Jonathan hauled in a 6lb yellow fin tuna, then the engine alarm went, we had water in the fuel from a bad lot we got in the Galapagos, so the evening was spent with the engine going on and off as it was bled of the water from the fuel.  Fortunately I had made Pizza doe and filling so the 'boys' were able to eat and check the engine without too much ptoblem.  During the night it didn't alarm again until 6.30 am, since then, touch wood, when it is on it has behaved.
We crossed near Briet and saw her red sails in the sunset, she is a Niad 32, which a friend of ours is helping to sail.  This morning we saw Aspen, an Island Packet, four miles ahead of us, she then headed south to try to find more wind.  So we are all slowly closing in as we get near the Marquesas Islands.
We plan, if the wind is not too strong, to BBQ the tuna tonight and it will be served witha wasabi cream sauce, broccoli and new potatoes.  Some fo the larger yachts who left 4 -5 days earlier than us have already arrived in the Marquesas, quite looking forward to getting there as I have just finished my third book.
