I am slightly behind with my blog.  Two days ago we were anchored in a beautiful bay off the fishing/middle-class (no booming music, foam dance clubs or rude drunk, fat, Brits with tattoos and all hanging out) local tourist spot called ESKIFOCA.  We anchored in theBay next to a yacht over 100'...  We took the dingy into the port and managed to squeeze between some local fishing boats to tie up.  We then explored the town and found a very good hardware shop so we were able to buy 6 fly swats for each cabin, galley, saloon and deck, they are a pest and do bite if they settle on you for long enough. Some good pan scrubbers, and some good plastic matting to put under the baskets under the sole of galley and other bits and pieces. We also found a good vegetable/fruit stall.  Strolled back down to the port in the heat and had a drink at one of the harbour side cafes. Back to the yacht for a rest as we are having very early mornings to avoid the Meltemi.  Showered, changed and went ashore again for dinner.  The restaurant we chose was not so good, fish was over cooked and dry and the Metze was not as good as those we had had before.  Back to the dingy after a walk around the other side of the bay.  The Meltemi had got up and so it was quite rough getting back to the yacht which was veering all over the place with quite large waves.  The anchor held well though.

Early the next morning we set sail for BADENLI LIMANI, dropped anchor and after an hour we suddenly dragged fast, engine on, up anchor with a huge garden of weed on the end of it, found another area to drop anchor and this time we held.  A very pretty area between islands with Hot Springs all around.  We had been warned that there is on going Siesmic activity which has caused the sea bed to change so not to rely on depths too much and to be aware of rocks.  The depths had changed in one area to shallower than that charted so we must report that to the RCC pilotage.  We went ashore in the dingy but it was really crowded with Turkish families (Ramadan holidays) we left the cove and left finding the hot springs for our return journey.

The following morning we headed for BABAKALE another small fishing port.  We squeezed into the harbour and dropped anchor going aft to the wall, fortunately there were some fishermen who took our warps for us as trying to get onto the wall from the yacht without hitting it would have proved difficult and the there were no bollards to lasso.

You can see in the lower photos that we were just behind the Cooperative of large fishing vessels.  They left at 5.30 this morning and mannered out without even threat ening to hit us, no bow thruster either brilliant!  We went to a little fish restaurant up the hill the proprietor was a little like Basil Fawlty, in complete panic, because they were busy and being very rude to some of his guests, he couldn't  speak any English and we were unable to speak Turkish none of his staff spoke English either, fortunately  a fellow customer spoke perfect English with a Birmingham accent!! so translated for us.  As things calmed down nearer the end of the evening he became more congenial. The Octopus was delicious, fish quite small, not sure what is was.

The last photo is of Jonathan finishing his book about Gallipoli so hopefully he will be a good guide when we visit.  We are dropping anchor near there this afternoon before pushing our way up through the channel to the Dardanelles .

GALLY LIST A FEW MORE THOUGHTS.

Large clothes pegs for hanging out towels are excellent from Lakelands and hold well, the smaller rubber ones work well as well.
Non slip hangers from Lakelands are great for the yacht to stop clothes falling off in the lockers.
