8th August, 07 Since arriving in Turkey we have cruised up the coast as far as Kusadasi and down as far as Finike. we have has various friends staying on board along with Antonia and her friends. We are historied out with visits to Ephesus, Kaunos, Knidos and Xanthos as well as many less well known histoical areas, facinating and makes me want to read the Iliad and the Odyssey again. Jonathan has had quite a successful time catching fish including a 10lb Blue Fin Tuna which if we has been anywhere near Japan would have sold for a fortune, instead we have have been eating the most divine tuna steaks and fillets. It has been very, very hot here going up to 49c. one day. Now in a divine cove called Karalog, a small inlet, very sheltered, grey rocks pine trees and thorn bushes coming down to the water which is crystal clear. we are well sheltered from the Meltemi winds. Saw our first cloud today, which did not linger.
Wonderful sail yesterday with Meltemi blowing in the afternoon, reached 10 knots surfing down a wave.
