Lazy Sunday on Aqualuna
Around the world with the Aqualunies

Well we are about half way there having passed the 1500 miles to go at about 0900 this am.
The Dorado griddled with roasted sweet potato, beans and an advocado & Mango salsa I made went down well last night. Sunday today so roasting a rack of lamb with fresh rosemary from my herb garden on deck.
Jonathan's attempts to catch a wahoo using flying fish as bait have not produced any success, but 2 dorados took the bare hooks. Lost the first at the boat, but the other is filleted, skinned and in the fridge.
We have decided to start reaching south in a day or two as there is a massive low off Florida which is forcast to produce huge north easterly swells down this far which means we would be hammering into it which in turn, besides being uncomfortable, will slow us down and produce light winds. Quite cloudy still with a lovely warm sun coming through every now and then and the odd rain squall. Our average speed overnight was 8 knots, hope to reach the 40o W longditude by tommorow. Nothing crazy has really happened over the last 24 hours. The watches have been changed to one person on for two hours and then six hours off as everything is pretty stable at the moment with the wind behind us.
Exchanged rhymes with Quasar V a Moody 54 a few days ago they were the ones that gave us the nickname of 'aqualunies'. At the moment they are approx 150 miles behind us, but with at least another week to go anything can happen. Both the Oyster 56' are also behind us, as this was a yacht we were half thinking of buying its quite satisfying to know we have made a good choice with our Ron Holland designed hull. The water maker works well, so far so good, all able to shower and do our washing everyday keeping the water bottles filled up as water makers can be fickle.
A lazy Sunday,
Love from the Aqualunies.
