Saturday, 23rd January,'10

Things calmed down quite a bit yesterday afternoon so out came the fishing lines and we caught a small skipjack tuna, enough for sushi for lunch today.  We have only seen two small dolphins yesterday following in our wake, we also must have gone over something as our depth finder suddenly went to 1.8, could have been the dolphins swimming underneath, we are keeping a look out for whales as well.

On my watch last night we were racing along and got a little overpowered, so called Jonathan up and took a reef in the main sail.  Now, at midday there is no wind, so engine on.  We saw the Southern Cross star very well and also the Northern Star low on the horizon last night.

John told me he had learnt to do massage and reflexology, so decided to ask him nicely to work on my neck and feet, bliss.  The amount of salt we have on deck attracted huge amounts of damp last night, so first thing we have to do when we reach port is wash down the decks and cushions.  Also cleaning below decks today as over the last couple of days keeping things ship-shape has not been possible, it must be the static on a yacht that seems to attract so much dust and dirt.  Its lovely to be able to open the hatches to get some air in below decks and to have a shower as well, we are all feeling much more human today.  Our estimated arrival time tomorrow is 10 a.m.
