The Lamb Tagine was at last eaten last night and was spicy and delicious.
During the day yesterday we motored for just one and a half hours. The wind
got up again but not very strong, we were pottering along at about 6-7 knots;thankfully
during the night the wind got up even more and set sail properly averaging
7-8 knots overnight. No more large rain squalls. We had the ultimate
'Discovery' moment lying in our huge kingsize bunk with the aft lower hatch
open, (the rollers were not coming in as large on our stern) and listening
to the sea, it was perfect and I slept like a log.
The makeshift fixing which Jonathan and Cabin Boy sorted out has held well
at the goose neck. Just hope Selden are on hand in Rodney Bay to sort it
properly......
'Love Love' is at the wheel (not actually steering of course, George is still doing that)
singing his heart out, sadly it's totally out of tune, and no amount of dog howling is
stopping him, just makes him sing louder; He has been our bard on board making up
poems (?) to send to Quasar V (a Moody 54) who have in turn sent rhymes to us;
he's constantly coming up with Shakespearian quotes or quotes from various poems
(reminds me of my Grandmother).
All our estimates for ETA are wrong, we won''t be arriving in St. Lucia for
another 27 hours or so, mainly due to lack of wind, reluctance to turn the
engine on which adds to our time and the problem with our boom fitting which has slowed
us down as we don't want to overstress it.
'The boys' have been drinking their water, at least 1.5 litres a day more if
possible, they have been doing it religiously because they know what I have
in my medical kit if they can't absorb water orally! So far so good we have
all remained exceedingly healthy and fit.
