 Monday - Wednesday 24th - 27th January.

We picked up Graham and Gill Lyne in Rodney Bay.  Sailed to Marigot Bay for dinner at ‘The Rainforest’  Delicious, we were anchored about 20 yards off, see 4th photo.
Sailed the following morning to drop anchor between the Pitons, very cloudy, beach now so built up it is spoilt where as 8 years ago it looked lovely, see 5th photo.
Sailed to Bequie as we were hoping to get into Blue Lagoon in St. Vincent but although it was supposed to have been dredged it was only 4’ deep so gave it a miss and sailed on to Bequie.  We were told by the harbour master of the Blue Lagoon he would sent a boat out to guide us in on the deeper side but by that time we were on our way.  We will give it a try on our return.  Very windy and rough so we were not happy about leaving the yacht at anchor whilst visiting the Botanical Gardens featured in the RHS December magazine. Bequie, as usual, was great fun, spent a day and night at anchor.  Sandra and John Pickles of the 55’ Discovery, Eupraxia came on board for drinks and then we all went out to dinner to ‘Jacks’ all back on board for post dinner drinks and coffee. The next day headed to Mustique for the Blues Festival at Basil’s Bar.  On the way we caught a fish which was a type of Jack we think it was a Florida Pompano by the markings, shape and colour.  I cooked it by marinated strips of it in lime then dipping in cornflour.  Cooked for 2 mins in ground nut oil in the wok, took out and drained the oil, added another tablespoon and added ginger, a small chilli, garlic stir fried for a few seconds, added fish sauce, mango and spring onions.  Piled this on to a platter and then put fish on top, it was delicious.  As Gill and Graham said a ‘to keep recipe’.
Below are pictures of houses in Bequie, the fish we caught.
