Having arrived in Jolly Harbour on April the first and dropped anchor in the Bay we started the BIG clean up of the yacht. Vacu packing linen, towels and clothes that were being left on board. Dusting and hoovering, cleaning the heads.

The following day we had been invited to an end of season party by some old HK friends Barbara Thompson and Alan Burge (Budgie) He was an ENT surgeon in HK. When we had an Impala 28’ before the children were born we used to race it in the harbour and out in the New Territories, Budgie also had one which he called ‘Scrumptious Oggy’ ours was called ‘Buckshot’. Lots of banter and team spirit was had in those days.
Their leaving Antigua lunch party was lovely, huge fun and the drink flowed and we met many of their friends who spend the season (UK winter) out there.

The following day we headed down to Catamaran Marina to lay up the yacht and organise it’s care.
We are now home house hunting in Devon for 6 weeks as well as seeing family and friends.

When we return to the yacht we will be sailing up to Bermuda for the America’s Cup.
