Having said Goodbye to M and B we carried on with the mini rally with the OCC visiting Dutch Harbour, raining a lot. Salt Pond on Block Island, which was gorgeous. We rented bikes to explore the island, drinks at OAR and played Corn Bags with the rest of the rally. Did a walk to the other side to a beach and had dinner at Bollards.
We were visited by Des and Chris from ‘CLOUD 91’ and Jacqui and Charles Fung from Wilderness for drinks. Three days later we sailed to New Bedford and the following day did a walking tour with the OCC which was fascinating hearing about the history of the town which was mainly a fishing/whaling port. Visited the the huge Whaling Museum which was fascinating. Dinner at Fathoms.
The following day we dropped anchor at Edgar Town, wehad visited it before so we relaxed, paddle boarded and walked. OCC drinks at Edgartown Yacht Club, dinner at Amethyst with Dietmer and Marie from GREYHOUND.

The following day, at 18.00 hours, a ‘Dingy Drift’ was organised, which was huge fun, we all tied up together and all brought along various ‘nibbles’ and wine etc. and let our raft-up drift across the bay, much to amusement of onlookers from other yachts. If we found we were drifting into another yacht one of us would put on an engine to steer us in the right direction.

Dinner the following evening at Wharf Point with the OCC.
Said ‘goodbye’ and thanks to the `OCC organisers and heading off to` `Block Island again, where we met up with Consie and Roly Lenox-King who had onboard David Milner, they came aboard for dinner and a catch up.

Early the following morning we headed for Oyster Bay through a thunder storm on Long Island.
5.15 the following morning we sailed for New York. 09.00 Hours we were motoring through Hells Gate. Our berth at Liberty Park was not yet free, so we motor sailed up the Hudson for a bit which was a lot of fun, looking at the skyline which had changed quite a bit since we were last there last year as Tomaz Heatherwicks new building rises up at the end of the High Line Park. Dinner at Liberty House Restaurant which was good with a lovely view of Manhattan. The following day we walked to the High Line and had a lovely time, it is amazing what they have done with the old railway line to the meat packing district. That evening we went to ‘Blue Note’ which quite frankly was not as good at ‘Front Page’ last year, it was squashed, food not brilliant and the main show was taken over by a friend of the artist, we won’t be going there again, it was literally get them in as much as possible, feed them quick and get them out quickly for the next sitting.

The next day we sailed down the coast and dropped anchor in Atlantic City for the night, not a place we wished to visit on foot, tall black glass buildings rising out of the sea, built for gambling, millions of 4x4s on the beach, a place from hell!
Weighed ancor at 5.45 the next morning and set sail around Cape May and up to the Delaware Canal.
Pissing down rain, docked half way down alongside Schrader’s Canal House, which was welcoming dinner at Schrader’s restaurant.
The following day we motored up Sassafras River. Big thunder storm,
18.10 went through Spa Creek Bridge when it opened for us and secured alongside the pontoon of the Annapolis Yacht Club.
Dinner the following evening kindly invited by Ed and Rachel Hoffman in their garden.
Visited the Navel College for a good look around which was interesting..
Sorted yacht out and put her to bed for a few months whilst we went home for the end of the summer.
