First photo looking towards NY from the Statue of Liberty, 5th photo was taken as we sailed under Brooklyn Bridge. Last photo of New York from Liberty Park where our yacht was.  The ferry over to NY was every half hour just yards from the yacht so it was so easy and took us into Manhattan.
We spent the first day visiting Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.  The following day I had problems with my iPhone so set off to find ‘Apple’ in the New World Shopping centre.  The architecture inside was amazing, mostly white marble and a roof that was made to look like a dove’s wings.  Apple were great I got an appointment within the hour they said just go to a cafe or shopping and we will text you as soon as we can see you.  They were very helpful and got so much sorted for me including my lap top which had slowed down quite a bit, so they sorted that out.
In the evening we went to Broadway which was huge fun and went to see Karen Ellson sing at a jazz club called ‘BirdLand’  which had a very good atmosphere.
We had already done a huge amount of sight seeing and gallery visiting when we were in NY in 2009, so we didn’t feel we needed to do it again.   Sadly the maritime museum which Jonathan wanted to go to was shut.  Jonathan, who is not the keenest city visitor was keen to leave, consequently we left NY for the Chesapeake on the 21st of July.  We sailed up under the Berrano Narrows Bridge to Sandy Hook where we dropped anchor for the night.  More photos of NY on the next one or two blogs.
