We are very nearly there! One hour thirty mins to go, it's pouring with rain
and very squally. Our idea of dressing up for the finish line seems to be
curtailed for the moment, we could still wear the flashing red noses if not
the felt antlers;I think the boys are secretly pleased. The winds we have
wanted over the last few days have come in and we have been flying along
under solent jib and genoa which is great as it has meant we have not had to
use the boom and main. One of the things we have learnt is that this yacht
loves speed and shoots through the water like an arrow.
The green Lakeland vegetable bags have worked very well and have had hardly any rotten
vegetables.

Not too long to go now before our rum punches.

WE HAVE ARRIVED!! Time:- 9.52.50s. Caribbean time.(Four hours behind
English time) Gigi an Oyster 55 got in about an hour before us. At the
finish line we played Pink Flloyd's 'Comfortably Numb' loudly, dressed in
antlers and flashing noses. Lots of hooting from yachts already arrived.
Karen, Janice (J's sisters) and Tony and Francis his brothers in law were
at the finish line on K & F's Swan to greet us. After dropping anchor to
sort out our bow thruster which had grown a few shells, we headed into the
marina, where we were greeted by the ARC staff, rum punches, beer and a
basket of fruit. It's still chucking down with rain (called liquid
sunshine!) Now clearing in through Customs and Immigration. Yacht to be
tidied, laundry done general clearing up of galley etc. We all sort of have that deflated feeling as well as elation that we have done it!
Very, very warm and humid similar to Hong Kong. Could put the AC on on the yacht but with the washing machine running as well don't want to blow the electrics.
Bye from the Aqualoonies
