31/1/10 Now in Snug Harbour
GOT THE DATE WRONG ON THE LAST BLOG SHOULD HAVE BEEN YESTERDAY SATURDAY 30/1/10
One forgets dates and time!
Yesterday we sailed from St. Ignacio de Tupile to Snug Harbour.  You can see on the 'photos the reef and the raging sea beyond.  In fact I have just read that you should only head from these southern islands to Cartagena with a very experienced Captain as the sea can be more than terrifying, yes it is big but we were going with it and the majority of the time surfing down the waves, not sure I would like to do it a smaller yacht.  The Kuna are amazing boat people they seem to sail through very rough waters in their dug out canoes with no problems at all using a paddle (just like the Canadian Indian paddles) to steer with they start at an early age, we were visited by a boy of 10 and his young brothers aged 7 and 2 in their dug out canoe well away from the village.  They visit us with molas for sail and fish when they have it, although one fisherman did offer J a few lobster in return for the Dorado head and tail so J gave it to him but he never returned with the lobster!
The 'photos attached are taken in San Ignacio de Tupile.
