CHRISTMAS IN SYDNEY, 2010. We have been staying with Maggie and Greg Crichton over Christmas in Sydney and having a ball. Maggie has been cooking up a storm as usual. It has been huge fun and one big giggle from beginning to end. Maggie has a family of Water Dragons in her garden two of which made an appearance on Christmas Day. The Day started off with an Egg Nog party on the terrace, it was hot, hot , hot. with friends and neighbours coming and going plus 22 of us for Christmas lunch, The three Turkeys were cooked on the BBQ and the dinner was done buffet style. Santa gave us all stockings in the night so lots of unwrapping over breakfast. It is and has been a brilliant re-union of old friends and the offspring who grew up together in HK and are now scattered all over the world either studying or working. The weather has been perfect over Christmas but came in a bit grey for the start of the Sydney - Hobart Race which started on Boxing Day. Sadly a front was coming bringing Southerly winds and high seas which were recorded at 3 meters today, about 12 yachts have retired so far, one which had a crack and had disabled crew on board. Lots of some of my photos below:- Water Dragon Christmas Egg Nog party on the terrace Maggie's Christmas cake Antonia & Christmas Tree Jonathan doing emergency plumbing wearing Santa's present of knee pads Mums and daughters Jonathan cooking Christmas Turkey Christmas buffet lunch Blowing out the flames on the holly of the Christmas pudding Some of the 'Offspring' Jonathan figuring out how to unwrap a shrink wrapped present Malcolm and Becky with Alex in the distance Blair and Chaanah presenting their Father with a present Maggie and drying up cloth Maggie and Greg Start of the Sydney - Hobart Race Start of the Sydney - Hobart Race |
