We are under way for NZ! We cleared out of Fiji at Lautoka yesterday
afternoon and then moved to Musket Cove for the night as the forecast was for a
trough to pass over Fiji overnight. As we picked up the mooring at 1920 we could
seedrk clouds massing to the SW and "enjoyed" a monumental thunderstorm from
about 2030 to 2230. Very heavy rain and the bucket on the aft deck was
completely full this morning.
We slipped the mooring at 0830 and motorsailed out through the Navula
Passage by 0940 when it wasengine off.Wind was Northerly 15 to 20 knots but has
now increased to 25 to 30 knots so we are rolling downwind with just the main
with 1 reef and still doing over 7 knots and the sun is shining. Much better
than the predicted light winds but maybe it will get lighter later today.
All well except that we didn't catch a wahoo or tuna on the way out of the
reef.
