THURSDAY, 4TH JUNE, 2010   TAHAA ISLAND

Margie's 61st Birthday party was great fun at the Taravana Yacht Club.  There was a huge buffet of interesting food laid out, free cocktails at 'Happy Hour', a bottle of red and white wine on each table, the best dancers we have seen yet with fire dancers as well, this is something the 'club' puts on every few weeks and the price included all this so it was a very good deal with great dancing after until well past midnight.  We said to 'goodbye' to Allden who rejoined 'Briet' to help Duco sail it to Bora Bora. The following morning we sailed around the east side of the island and anchored just inside a reef, watched the sunset over Bora Bora as we had sundowners.  In the morning we headed off around to an Island which has the Tahaa hotel on it and where there is supposed to be a magnificent 'Garden reef' with lovely coral, none of us found it, or at least we most probably have been spoilt by the coral and fish we saw in the Tuamotu Islands.  Donald took us to the gourmet restaurant at the hotel which happened to be a Relais & Chateau one so the food was delicious, we had amazing cocktails beforehand in the tree house bar.
Today we are sailing to Bora Bora only about 18 miles away so will only take a few hours, but most probably motoring all the way as there is no wind.
