We set sail for Tahuata two days ago and spent a lovely relaxing 48 hours in one of the most beautiful bays in the Polynesia, gold sand, palm trees and turquoise water.  We left the bay and island late this afternoon and have arrived in Hiva Oa, Paul Gauguin's island where he lived and is buried.  When we came inside the breakwater to anchor, it was quite a tight squeeze as there are many yachts in here so as not to swing we have dropped an aft anchor.  As we were making our way in we came across Rhiann Marie a Discovery 67, she is beautiful, we were invited on board for drinks as soon as we had settled and had a tour of the yacht, similar in layout to ours but much larger and with five cabins! and a very good entertaining cockpit, but still manageable by two crew.  tomorrow we (Jonathan, Allan and I) plan to rent a 4x4 to explore the island.
