Awoke this morning and got on to the internet only to receive a message that there was a Tsunami alert caused by an 8.8 earthquake in Chile.   We were anchored off a South facing beach so the best thing to do was to head out to sea for the morning as if it was going to come it would be at 10am our time.  We spent the morning pottering around under genny at about 3 knots making water with our desalinator, washing and fishing; we caught a little bonito which we will have as sashimi for lunch tomorrow as we already have BBQed steak marinated in spices tonight.  No sign of the Tsunami so after lunch we came into Rio Cacique and took the dinghy up river through the swamps and into the rain jungle; great fun with crabs and spiders everywhere, plus birds and long vines to avoid as we headed up river first under motor then using our oars to make our way through the undergrowth.  Very easy trip back down as the tide was going out.  Very, very hot and thundery but only a little rain; wish it would have a good storm to clear the air.
