Positon:- 14 degrees 22min north & 064 degrees 47 mins west.
We passed Isla Aves at about 8.a.m.  A reef in the middle of the Caribbean sea with just I tiny island.  The Venezuelan Navy have built an infrastructure on the reef on stilts from a distance it looks like the bridge of a cargo ship.  They called us up on VHF and wanted to know all about us, position, type of vessel, MMSI no., flag etc. where we were heading and had come from, Jonathan was able to give them the info in true nautical sytle, they then called up an American ship who had no clue of their ship no and gave their own Christian name instead of the ship's name, it all provided a bit of amusement.
Whilst J was talking  with the Blue Water Rally coordinator our fishing line ran.  We had the Asymetric up, and were in the process of snubbing it but going quite fast still for a fish on the line so sadly the line snapped, the rod holder broke as well and we lost what was a Marlin as we saw it jump, very frustrating. The up side is that we did not loose the rod as it was tied on.
Crew decision not to go to Aruba as too full of casinos and hotels, so we are giving it a miss and heading for Bonaire and Curacao instead.
Average speed today had been 7-8 knots with the Asemetric up until sunset.  Dinner tonight was was Chicken breasts stuffed with sundried tomatoes,  rosemary and brie, along with new potatoes and broccoli.  Think the rosemary was far too strong a herb for the chicken the stuffing would have been better in lamb fillets.
