We had to have the engine on for about 9 hours last night, quelle dommage.
The north westerly rolling waves, predicted to come from the big low that
hit the UK eventually, have arrived, they are very high, very wide and
smooth, one moment we are down in a valley with the tall hills of waves each
side the next we are on top of the mountain looking across; they are rolling
in on our starboard side. The wind is up again and we are tootling along at
about 7-8 knots with all sails up, genoa, solent jib and main, not rolling
too much at all.

It is now very very warm, we had one of the best evenings so far on deck,
BBQ'd stakes, szetchwan aubergines, mushrooms (which I remembered were at
the back of the fridge and still in good condtion) and small pasta and some
good red wine. Suddenly the sound system decided to work again (its been
very tempermental since being installed) so we palyed some Eric Clapton CDs
loudly and the thing was we are miles from anywhere and anybody so it didn't
matter and we had a ball.

Tonight we are going to celebrate the 999miles (which we got to last night)
to go with a pool party on deck. Our well, where one stands at the wheel,
can also be used as a bath (some Discovery owners have made them into full
blown hot tubs but more to go wrong as far as I am concerned). Not only is
it a great place to have a bath when in a quiet bay but also great for
washing ropes and sheets free of salt water when putting the yacht to bed.
Anyway, we shall fill it tonight and have cocktails around the pool. Fish
are still being very elusive - they most probably won't bite until we have
just sat down for lunch.

Love from the Aqualuniesxx
