Before leaving Gulf Harbour we went for lunch and a walk at Brick Bay Sculpture Park and Wineary.  What is so wonderful about NZ is the numerous amount of art work especially sculptures in gardens and parks I especially like the kinetic sculputres.  The Brick Bay Park was well worth a visit, after a delicious tapas lunch and some wine we set off for about two hours to walk around the extensive grounds and see the art work.
We left Gulf Harbour with new oven up and working perfectly, so much better it has a large under grill, insulated so it heats all around and safer with a lockable door and safety rails around the hob area.  I will no longer suffer from the risk of food falling out when the oven door unexpectedly opens up.  The new oven is mad by an English company called GN Espace, the chap who set up the company is a yacht owner and has in fact set up a whole galley for new build yachts which is ultra efficient.
We sailed up to Mansion House Bay on Kawau Island the house was closed so we went for a lovely long walk.
Sailed back to Mahurangi River to meet Pat, Gordon and Andy Nelson at Scotts Landing as we had invited them for lunch.  We did BBQ lamb, roasted veg etc.  It was a perfect day with no wind so comfortable for our guests! Lots of catching up and old HK stories which was fun.  We hope to get together with them in HK when we pass through there in June.
We are now back at Kawau Island in Old School House Bay as a front with 30+ knot winds are coming through from the SW,  they should have been here by now but not arrived yet!! just tons of rain, which is great for the farmers after months without rain.
This morning we discovered the flange for the shower pump had disintegrated so poor old J has been down in the bilges replacing that the boat has had a good rinse down with rain water so we took the opportunity to clean the port holes and windows etc.
We are going to motor around to Mansion House Bay this afternoon to look inside the house.
