THE KINGDOM OF TONGA, 2ND JULY, 2010

We are having a fantastic time.  The day before yesterday we sailed to the bay of Tapana for a dingy race,  Aqualuna came a respectable 2nd despite being loaded down with water balloons.  That evening there was a Tongan feast laid our for us near the beach and Tongan dancing.  The feast had to be eaten with our hands and was laid out on Banana leaves and in coconut shells, see photos below.  The following morning we headed off around to another beach called Nuka, it was a perfect day with bright sunshine.  We all dressed in pink to celebrate Charlie's 13th Birthday, with lunch time BBQ and tea party after, a Cricket match was played with great aplomb by the girls!! we won the most points.   Many of us stayed on that evening around a fire with Charlie singing songs and playing her guitar.  Got back to the yacht at about 10 p.m to find a message on the 'phone saying that ANTONIA GOT A 2:1 for her JOINT HONOURS IN MANDARIN & HISTORY OF ART!!!!! She certainly deserved it she worked very hard over the last few years.
I am dressing the boys legs as they have bites from No no flies which have gone septic with staphylococcus which is rampant on Nuie, Jonathan looks a bit like a child's teddy bear with plasters all over him!
