The day started with the rigger with a replacement job halyard (nice black/grey, ready spliced with swivel shackle and lead thread. Lead line swiftly through the mast (well, it caught a couple of times!) and new halyard installed. Then the main furling line was cut(!) and then a new line skillfully spliced on the outer sheath (non-load bearing).
Next the jib hoist - discovering how the genoa clasp had broken the same event was avoided! A few attempts to re-insert the battens ended up shortening one to get a snug fit.
Spray-hood (dodger to some) was finished off by Sparky - assuring us that the thread used would expand over time with wetting and would not leak around the seams!
Evening at the Legend brewery bar for a chance to redeem Magic Friday's reputation at Trivial Pursuits. However, DESPITE having a U.S crew contingent we were still LAST! Missing out on a prepaid gift card for a few free beers! C'est la vie.
