Early morning start (04:00) - slipped mooring lines, reversed out and slipped out of Charleston Harbour in first light on an out-going tide. Passing cargo ships in the shipping channel (port-to-port) whilst cormorants looked on from the breakwater rocks! Sails set - headed north along the South Carolina coast. Wind dropped in the afternoon - motor-sailing - crew asleep! Approached Drewers Inlet - breakers all round on the coast - couldn't see the inlet to join the ICW - aborted and back out to sea. Looked at Bull Island for an overnight anchor - decided on Five Fathom creek - just south of Cape Romain. Dropped anchor in the fading light - just out of the marked channel - well, we'll see where we are in the morning!!
