A misty dawn broke slowly over the horizon as we approached Fort Pierce Inlet at 06;00 - just after high tide and just before the marina dock-master arrived for the day - perfect timing - 82nm and 18hrs (we had slowed up on the mornings journey to arrive in daylight on the tide). Tied up by 07:15, in our old slip - had we ever left(?) - the sun-tan lines (without a watch strap mark) to show!! A trip to the local airport for U.S. Customs and Border Protection - almost a hitch (we had not called in to central Florida - so no "arrival number"), rectified and then there it was: a new cruising license (2nd time lucky) - good for almost another year - at last. Picked up some parts as ordered and relaxed in the afternoon. Ready for a car drive to our next marina (Brunswick Landing) and then return to the boat to sail up to Georgia
