Day 2 - Bahamas Cruising (North Bimini Island - Blue water Marina)

Boat cleaning - outside salt removal and inside “hovering” were jobs first on the list for Monday morning. Then the tangled fishing lure caught in the bow thruster (spotted by a neighbour) - visible in the clear marina water. Suddenly there were sting-rays in the bay and the Captain in the water! Di keeping watch - a tedious job of untangling the line with snorkel and holding breath! Time to go exploring - out to a sand bank only uncovered at low tide to investigate marine and bird life. We went bearing gifts (food) - some stale bread - gratefully devoured by the gulls. More rays, a small barracuda, sea worms, live conches and hermit crabs abound. Then to a beach to see a wreck, a game of bowls and back to the marina for a “cooling-off” swim. Evening on the boat watching others arrive - the marina is full again! Nightfall and a book to read - so peaceful! Planning to leave tomorrow for an anchorage on Gun Cay or Cat Cay - just 10-12 miles south....likely to be out-of-touch for a few days....
