Magic Friday

Another sunny day - temperatures climbing to 77F - hard to imagine Summer has not arrived! Making some progress re an insurance company willing to cover us for Cuban waters - although we may have to change our entire annual policy, it seems they do not have the same apparent U.S. Coast Guard restrictions re citizenship / boat registration as Panteanius - interesting! So we are hopeful a trip may be possible after all (and not too expensive either)! More to come on this topic.
We noticed some growth on the sunny-side of the hull - just above the anti-fowling, on the water line - perhaps the water line is still a little too low at the stern (or we have loaded the lockers again)! Never the less a small job in Mini Magic scrapping the sides to rid Magic Friday of the cockles and sea-weed growth - we should get an extra 1/2 knot! Then a quick test of the outboard - although it didn't start first time, it did fire up eventually and ran smoothly. Oops...noticed that the bung was not inserted in the tender - unfortunately stuck under the airbed - so a champagne cork did the job until we could pull it out, deflate and retrieve! I knew they would come in eventually, and no, we didn't need to open another bottle for a fresh cork!! A short trip up the marina - no mantees in sight. Then back on board and all closed up before thunderstorms rolled in for the night -0 glad to be tied up safely!
