The strong easterly wind (and rain) finally subsided during the night and the boat heel leveled (still tied to the dockside)! The morning sun dried the decks. Deciding to forego the bus, ferry and sub-way journeys into downtown Manhattan and instead enjoy the surroundings of Staten Island. A lengthy discussion with the dock-master on recommendations after transiting the East River, followed by a 5 mile bike/run in the Great Kill Park Recreational Area - discovering yet more deserted beaches. A close up view of the narrow harbour entrance we had negotiated yesterday in high winds and waves and a game or two of beach boules!
A short dinghy across the bay to the Marina Café and our reservation for a very pleasant evening meal out. Overlooking the Great Krill harbour and Magic Friday across the bay.
