Day 6 - Hilton Head SC - Fort Pierce Fl

Peering through a misty morning the NASA rocket launch sites loomed on the distant horizon. Deciding that the marinas in Cape Canaveral would be unable to help repair the drive chain (and other items on the repair list) we decided to head on to Fort Pierce - another 65nm and a second overnight sail. But first, a lunchtime bbq, table set, sun scorching the decks, we passed a lazy afternoon sailing slowly and getting ready for the night ahead. Passing through zones marked as "rocket crash areas" we kept an overhead watch as well as a sea watch!! Sadly no Northern Right whale sightings although a few were mentioned on the VHF. More motoring as the wind dropped.....as lightening storms lit the dark night sky to the east (no rain) we motored slowly onwards...
