The next day was overcast and rainy as we retraced our steps towards Helsinki. Poor visibility made navigation trickier and conditions were generally unsettled. Our original plan had been to find another anchorage for the night, which would have just left a short hop to Helsinki in the morning, but the poor weather made this a less attractive option, so before long it was decided to go all the way back to Helsinki and have a full day for sightseeing before Kirsty and Tom left in the evening.

The trip was uneventful and we didn’t have to wait too long for the opening bridge so we were back at the HSS harbour guest pontoon in plenty of time for tea and a lovely sunset.
