The town of Winthrop lies on the Northern side of
Boston Harbour, close to Logan Airport. It's convenient proximity to the airport
was why I chose to stay there. I was expecting to anchor but all the space was
taken by local moorings. However the Winthrop Yacht Club, one of four in the
area, kindly offered me a mooring and Ahmet the club dockmaster and Board
Director was very helpful giving me lost of local info and introducing me
to many of the club members and officers in their excellent lounge
bar.
The time soon passed, as usual less jobs were
completed than on the original list, but when Kirsty flew back to Boston on
Friday 3rd, after her trip to Yosemite, Moorglade was cleaned up,
provisioned and ready to go.
That evening we had a very pleasant dinner at a
mexican restaurant in town with Ahmet and his wife Dannielle.
