On Thursday it had been intended that we would visit Peenemunde in the morning and head South to Wolgast in the late afternoon as there was a bridge with limited opening times there. We would then have rafted alongside the quay. However the wind had got up in the night and by morning it was blowing hard and raining. This resulted in the ferry to Peenemunde being cancelled and our plans being changed, as it was felt that the rafting would have not proved reasonable in the prevailing conditions. Instead we sheltered on board with only a brief sortie to the shop  for more beer.

In the evening we all went to the nearby tapas restaurant to see if it offered something better than the marina restaurant. It proved to be tapas in a very German style, with a heavy reliance on large quantities of protein with only a few olives and a couple of grapes to provide any vitamins we may have felt in need of.

I liked this method of dealing with mast top issues , but thought the guy up the ladder brave to tackle it in the wind strength we were experiencing. I guess it was better than a boson’s chair.
