Left Salt Whistle bay at 9.45 heading for the Cays under headsail with help when needed from the engine.
Our track took us north of Mayreau and through the narrow channel between Petit Rameau and Petit Bateau to an anchorage in the lee of Baradal Island. The area is one big reef with only a few meters of water and sand and coral bottom the colours are amazing. The anchorage is protected from the Atlantic swell by a horse shoe coral reef which extends from North through East to south of the Cays. Of course it is hard to get paradise to yourself these days, but as it is now out of season in the Caribbean, there are only a few yachts in the anchorages and very few trippers. (Actually it is better to use the buoys provided free of charge as it reduces the damage to the coral from anchors.)
Relaxed on board in the afternoon and went ashore on Petit Bateau for a barbeque supper, this time shared with a group of German engineers one of whom was working in Cardiff for Meritor who make truck brakes. They had chartered but were very interested in our Atlantic crossing and the ins and outs of living aboard.

Thursday morning started with a visit from Sidney, the well known tee shirt vendor from Union. We bought some shirts as ours are getting a bit tatty.

We explored the uninhabited island of Babadal in the morning and were pleased to find lots of birds and iguanas in the bush. There were lots of paths to follow, and we soon lost each other but joined up again later back at the beach near the sandspit on which we had left the dinghy.

Back to Moorglade for lunch and collect the gear for an afternoons snorkelling. The area is well known for turtles and rays. we were not disappointed seeing both. Unfortunately only managed to photograph the turtles.
Are we getting bored with cruising round the Caribbean?  errr... NO!
