Kay had gone ashore yesterday afternoon  to be taken to Boston Airport by Susan for her flight home so this morning Kirsty and I were ready to leave the anchorage, however there was an annoying silence when the starter key was tuned. After some time taking the starter motor off, the fault was traced to a loose connection. When tightened all was well and we motored in to the municipal dock for a pump out and to fill the water tanks.
By 11:30 we were motoring out of Sippican Harbour with the prospect of a good sail.
By the time we were through Quick's Hole, an easy passage between two of the Elizabeth Islands, into Vineyard Sound the sea was quite rough with the wind over the tide and the rather limited shelter of Menemsha seemed less of a good idea. We changed our plan and headed North to Vineyard Haven passing inside the rocky Middle Ground shoal.  By 17:30 we were moored inside the breakwater enjoying a beer after a slow passage due to the adverse tide.
