Departed Ponce mid to late Sunday (12th Feb) morning for short passage to La Parguera. Another warm day with light winds and low sea swell, a lot more comfortable for me, dropped only one sea-quell ‘just-in-case’. We deployed the cruising chute in light tail wind conditions making slow but sure progress. Some confusion upon arrival at La Parguera as the charts didn’t seem to correlate with the GPS, and we needed to avoid some shallow reefs to get to our preferred anchorage.

Ted cooked bangers and mash for us first evening, which went down well with a couple of beers and red wine. We all enjoyed dinner at the Villa Parguera the following evening in the company of Tony and Jill again, meal didn’t quite meet with our expectation, but the Sangria was good, and not to mention the Rum and ginger beer mix (stormy something) on Tony and Jill’s boat beforehand.  We all went snorkelling on the reefs on Monday, Mike found some nice Conch shells but we left them behind because it’s we were advised that it was illegal to bring them into the UK.

We have decided to stay in Parguera another day (Tuesday), because of the weather forecast sea swell of 3-4m on the north west coast of Puerto Rico. We hope to be able to catch-up on our schedule later.
