Moorglade in Hano harbour before leaving. Apparently the swallows from an earlier blog nest inside the white tyres round the harbour side

We were concerned that the forecasts were indicating that the wind was going round to the west and strengthening during the coming week so we planned to go to a harbour where we could guarantee wifi so we could update our information. We chose Simrishamn and had an ideal sailing day. The wind was not too strong and we tried using the cruising chute like a big genoa, without a pole to make it easier to hoist and manage.

Leaving Hano

The easy way of flying the big coloured one

On arrival we were slightly surprised to discover that they seemed to have conventional pontoon berthing, such as we were used to. I was very nervous about jumping as I had heard the horror stories about pontoons that don’t support weight but to my relief these even supported me.

Simrishamn harbour

We had time for a walk round the town before going back to the boat for dinner.

Views of the town with colourful floral displays

St Nicolai church has been here for 800 years (possibly not quite always in its current form)

There was nothing to explain this sculpture so I can only guess it’s about man’s ongoing relationship with fish
