Dealing with people who don't do anything they promise (first go at getting the
rigging fixed) and then checking the Fedex tracking website as our watermaker
part made its way from Trinidad via the US to Paris to Madrid to the airport in
Tenerife and finally to the Marina security barrier, where we were waiting to
intercept it, was a real test of patience when the sailing conditions were ideal
but deteriorating. We could not help ourselves from following the fortunes of
the ARC boats as they left us tied up in port.
We have had a good nights sail with everything (inc crew) working well. The
wind is not doing what is is supposed to at this time of year with S.Werlies
forecast for this area over the next few days. We, like the ARC boats, are
heading south down the African coast to keep in a better air stream and delay
having to beat.
With four of us on the boat and easy conditions the demands of watch
keeping are minimal, plenty of sleep and regular meals.
We ran the water maker this morning for half an hour which topped up our
tanks to full and coincidentally used the extra charge the duogen had
put in the batteries overnight. Good news, it looks like regular showers will
not be a problem.
