Starting to head South

Our position is 59:14.191N 18:43.491E Distance covered 21Nm We finally managed to drag ourselves away from the fleshpots of Vaxholm after filling the boat up with food, beer and diesel and waiting for the rain to stop. Even though they hadn’t been with us that long, it seemed strange without Guy, Kelly and the girls on board, but we had planned a passage amongst islands so before long the concentration required for the pilotage overtook other things.
The day was sunny and the trip uneventful. The most exciting thing was picking up a fender, which fell off a speeding motor boat. He didn’t notice it fall so it was a useful piece of flotsam.
Our destination was a pretty bay, only spoiled by having a rock just under the surface on one side near the anchoring spot. We missed it, but thought that a boat that came in later may have found it as he stopped rather abruptly and then turned away from the track he had been following. It had been a warm day and in the evening we were treated to the sight of several people skinny dipping from their boats along the rocks. We didn’t follow their example but had a quiet evening and an early night.
