We needed a restful sail after all the cycling but had planned to go to Visby, the main town on Gotland and the wind was perfect for deploying the cruising chute.  I expected moths to fly out as it is so long since it has seen the light of day, but it went up like a dream and we had a wonderful sail along the coast of Gotland, until the wind came round and then died away. Still it was good while it lasted.

Later on my watch I managed to tread on a bee, while retrieving a sail tie that the skipper had left on the foredeck. Luckily a speedy application of Wasp-eze meant the swelling soon went down and it stopped hurting.

When we arrived at Visby there were radio messages warning of the imminent departure of one of the ferries that we could see in the harbour so we waited outside until it left and then started to head in, only to realise that the other one was coming out as well, so it was brakes on until that one cleared the entrance and then into the guest harbour. Surprisingly it was practically empty. The season in Sweden ends on 15 August but even so I was surprised there were so few boats. It made tying up near the facilities particularly easy for once.
