Turning a corner in so much as we are now sailing for a waypoint, set after considering the wind prediction for the next 5 days, giving us a turn to starboard and a heading rather more in the direction of home.  We also seemed to have turned a figurative corner as we have left the area of calm high pressure behind and can now track towards the NE at a splendid 6 knots rather than the frustrating, dead run, rolling, sail slatting, two to three knots we were achieving last night.
This morning was classic ocean cruising, running goose winged in bright sunshine, a good breeze and following sea. Dolphins leaping high, a passing ship, (John called them up for a chat) the skipper making chocolate brownies for tea, (good old Betty Crocker), whale breeches in the distance. What more can a crew ask?

Well this crew is asking for the high pressure to break down over the UK so we can have something other than light Easterlies as we close  the Western Approaches in 5 days time. It would be nice not to be motoring the last 300Nm and put the diesel we are holding in reserve in the car.
