Once again we left early to get favourable tide. The morning was colder than we had been used to and required extra clothing, but it had warmed up by midday, although the wind dropped away to very little. We opted to go through the narrow channel and pick up a mooring in the Pond. We were soon ashore and exploring the little island, climbing to the Lookout Point and admiring the views of Martha’s Vineyard, before returning to the harbour for ice creams, having purchased supplies at the local store. Then it was back to the boat, by then closely surrounded by others as the moorings made the most of the very limited space, and locally made clam chowder.

The school and the library (the town hall was next door but I couldn't get them all in) My eye was caught by the weather vane on this church - a reflection of the primary industry
