A very pleasant day, all in all. Not a great deal
of wind though. Cloudy at first, the sun burst through at midday and we
started he afternoon with beautiful sailing...10 knots of wind, and a little
lift, enabling us o make a course of 350. Fast enough to get a little spray on
the foredeck.
But by 15.30, the breeze had died away and we spent
the next 4.5 hours in sub 4 knots territory. So we haven't quite got north
of Madeira yet, which is 100 miles away on our starboard side.
Some fun and games with the computer and modem this
afternoon, which cast doubt on whether this message could be sent, but a you can
se, we fixed it. It's all about using precisely the correct cable.
Lasagna is in the oven and another quiet night in
prospect.
