It iis 1700 UT here and we have had another day of slogging to windward in the famed Bay of Biscay.

Our goal has been to get to the east of our rhumb line, so that we can tack on an expected windshift which will then lift us up nicely to our objective, which remains St Marys in the Scillies.

The weather has been great for sailing, albeit with slightly larger waves than you might ordinarily request. We have had sun and wind....but it is cold.

This morning brought a new issue to contend with. Our water tanks managed to empty themselves into the bilge...something we will have to investigate when we are upright.

Beating to windward is slow...we have discussed this before, but when you are tantalisingly close to the end of a long passage, the mental torture seems all the more harder to endure. One measures the remaining journey time by the number of remaining nights at sea, and we have at  least two more before the Scillies are reached.

Waiting for the shift...hpefully tonight
