We are off!
We set off this morning at 0855 local, which is
about 1400 BST
Our passage plan takes us through the Mouchoir
Passage, east of the Turks and Caicos Islands and as I write, we are 13 miles
from our first waypoint in the centre of the passage. we have covered about 53
miles in the first 8 hours.
Our track is 025 true and out SOG is between 6 and
6.5 Knots. Wind is 16 Knots from 098 degrees and there seems to be a slight
westbound current so we are virtually close hauled...sailing with an ld No 2 and
1 reef in the main, which is comfortable. Sea, though is a tad
lumpy. Occasional squalls in mid afternoon.
Our position as at 2230BST (2130 UTC) is 20
35.933N, 70 20.160W
