Well, this is more like it! We are anchored in the delightful Puerto San Miguel, still on the north coast but roughly 12 miles east of the slightly faded hotspot of San Antonio. And we are in a completely different world! Not a real port....just a secluded-ish sheltered bay, guarded by an offlying rocky island.

Remember all those posts from idyllic anchorages in the Caribbean? Well, to some extent, the beauty of these Calas (bays) in Ibiza, remind us of those places. In most, but not all respects. Notably, the water temperature....which is 19 degrees.....or about 10 degrees cooler than would tempt me in to swim. But there are hardy souls who are taking the plunge, though many are wearing full triathlete kit, bathing caps, wetsuits et al.

We are informally cruising round in company with Bob and Lyn on their Starlight 39, Drift Away. Otherwise, the bay is an eclectically mixed community with representatives from Italy, Spain, the Cayman Islands, the UK, and France.

Last night, we enjoyed sundowners in the beach bar, before retiring for part 2 of a roast chicken salad...followed by fresh raspberries....and, washed down with water! Yes, water! Well, you have to look after your health!

There is a risk that we might meet up with Liz and Alasdair, if they get their catamaran over here. They are currently in mainland Spain, south of Barcelona. Liz, whom I haven’t seen for years, is a very old friend of my sister and it would be fun to see them in their natural habitat of the western Med on board their Lagoon.
