While the UK demonstrates it's enthusiasm for the electoral process, we have our minds dominated by other, more arcane priorities.

The last 24 hours have been slow, as we gently encroach on the mid Atlantic High pressure "losenge". Last night, in particular was a test...of the kind one experiences off the French coast in the RORC race to, say St Malo. The wind dropped off to about 6 knots, but the swell, previously unnoticed, made it jolly hard to fill the sails.  Eventually, the breeze built to around 8 knots and we found a little lane where we could set the autopilot on a sensible course to keep the spinnaker filled.

Since dawn, and by the way, what a celestial treat, as the  full moon set in the west and sun rose in the east simultaneously, things have improved and we are making nearly 6 knots in the direction 024.

Our GRIBs tell us that we ought to expect a complete wind shut off this afternoon, then things get going again around 0300 UT tomorrow morning, probably as the election results start to flood in!!

Lasagne was on the menu last night, and very good it was too.

Routine is now properly established, sleep deprivation apparently banished, so all well.
