We met up with Gillian and Neil from Silver Lining, as they arrived in the Douro Marina and promptly set off for a delightful lunch in the popular local restaurant...entertained, if not serenaded by an ebullient and charismatic singer / guitarist. The food was excellent....grilled sardines were the order of the day, but we tried the grilled cuttlefish as well. Everything was grilled on the charcoal barbecue in the street outside.

This evening, we are meeting the crews of Tivoli (US), Silver Lining (New Zealand), Venture Lady (UK) for drinks before setting off to watch the Euro 16 final on a large screen.....Murray has won the Wimbledon final, Hamilton the British GP, and Froome has retained the yellow jersey after stage 9 of the Tour de France, so it's been a big sporting day....

I think we have nice breezes tomorrow, so we are likely to head on south...perhaps to Peniche, about 60 miles away....and then to Cascais after that....
