A day of two halves, today. We started off
with a fine sailing breeze or up to about 21 knots. So we hoisted the heavy kite
and set off at a cracking pace, still on port gybe, heading around 235.
Then a shift kicked in and at around 1400 we gybed in the new breeze, which
almost immediately, evaporated. Shame, because the new angle was straight
at our target, Barbados.
After 3 hours the wind shifted back again, so we
gybed again, and that's how we are now. There's only 11 knots of reeze, and the
slamming main is back with every wave. But we can make a heading within 10
degrees of the Barbados waypoint, albeit slow progress.
More dolphins this morning, plus little white, long
tailed birds which travel in two's and threes...regularly circle our mast top,
checking us out.
