Persephone... Cruiser/Racer
Nigel & Karen Goodhew...
Fri 13 Jan 2017 19:08
The first thing to report at 1900 this evening is that it is still light.  We are travelling west and changing time zones, though Persephone is staying on UTC.

We have had a very relaxing day today. The spinnaker went up at 1000 and is still pulling us along. The wind is about 12 knots from the north east and we are westing very nicely now.Barbados is 2040 miles away, that's just over 3 Fastnet Races.

We found another leak in the boat today, leaving an oily mess in one of the bilges near the galley. We swiftlyfound the culprit; a poorly sealed bottle of olive oil! The sea is definitely all staying out of the boat...she has never been so dry.

And I have reported on our suppers here regularly, so tonight we are having a beef carbonade (cooked in beer) with a mixed potato mash...a mix of standard and sweet potato.

We have had a lot of sun today, but also a few drops of rain this evening...literally half a dozen splashes!

All is well on board
