Well, we are at sea again. After almost 7 months in
Madeira, Pesephone slipped out of Quinta do Lorde marina at 0900 this
morning.
On board are Karen and Nigel, plus special guest
star, Michael Robson. It is now 20:15 and we have enjoyed a very gentle
first day on the water, sailing in a light north westerly breeze, and passing a
few miles to the south of Porto Santo.
It has been warm in the sun and although gentle
sailing, today has not been wihout excitement. First, a basking whale about 100
metres on our starboard side, just north of he Islas Desertas. then a few hours
later, a floating steel oil drum with two sea birds perchd on it, floated
by.
Sunset is approaching now. Supper was a ravioli and
pesto, alas no chianti.
All well on board.
