Well, today has been a busy sailing day. We started by shakingout our overnight reef. Then we spotted another yacht!  A sailing yacht, with her kite up. It was the sameone we had seen at dusk yesterday. And as we know, where there are 2 yachts, there's a yacht race. It can't be helped. So up went our kite and for 2.5 hours we held them at bay.

"They" were Mahe 3, an Italian 53 foot yacht taking part in, and indeed, leading the Atlantic Odyssey rally from Tenerife to Barbados. Eventually, in some squally stuff, they gybed north and we have not seen them since about 1400.

The squalls gave us interesting saily things to do; kite down, jib poled out, jib down, kite up, a few gybes around the back of storm cells and fially an evening reef.

We had an email from Win2Win yesterday evening, telling us of their engine woes; it runs, but not in gear and Eltjo thinks he might have lost a propeller blade or something has let go in the saildrive leg.

We are having one of Karens unforgettable home made pizzas tonight and then perhaps a shower and a nice long lie down. And possibly a cheeky beer to celebrate the end of the first day of the second half of the trip.

All well
